As we are well aware with the significance of fuel, it is the heart of every industries. There is a huge shortage of coal, natural gas, kerosene, diesel, lignite etc… but these fuels are very expensive.  Due to the high increasing demand of energy and fuel, people started to show interest in biomass briquettes. Biomass briquettes are eco-friendly ready substitute to these fossil fuels and the solution for tomorrow’s fuel shortages.

Biomass briquettes are renewable energy eco-friendly fuel for future. So it can fulfil the worldwide necessities of alternate fuels. A few years ago, it was used as an option to fuel but in improper way and today, it become the primary fuel of for the industries. They are available in cheaper rate than other traditional fuels so non-developed countries can also using them.

For making biomass briquettes, agro forestry waste and industrial waste are used. It can be converted into solid cylindrical shape briquettes. The main residues are rice husk, saw dust, cotton salk, wood chips, groundnut shells, mustard shells, Soybean husk, tea waste, paddy straw, etc… This wastes are put into briquetting machine and gives high pressure and temperature. After the process briquettes are produced with high calorific value.

This technology binds the raw material without using any chemical so it known as binder less technology. Many countries are promoting this technology, because it is less polluting and very easy in use. Government encouraging this briquetting industry by giving incentives for installing this project. Briquettes are widely used for steam generation in boilers and heating purposes.  As a fuel, white coal giving the best result than fossil fuels.

The plant which makes briquettes from green waste it called briquetting plant. There are many types of briquetting plants in the industry to satisfy the shortage of fuel. In our regular life, biomass briquettes are very useful for cooking and to produce green electricity.
